THE ROLE

As an accredited NABERS Assessor, you will carry out physical assessments of commercial buildings to collect and then verify the data required to provide a NABERS rating.

NABERS ratings include NABERS Energy, NABERS Indoor Environment, NABERS Renewable Energy Indicator, NABERS Waste, NABERS Water and more.

CONTRIBUTION TO NET ZERO

NABERS Assessors have been essential to decarbonsing Australia’s office buildings, with NABERS Energy ratings required for all offices over 1,000m2 across Australia. Offices that have been rated with NABERS Energy over 14 consecutive years demonstrate average energy savings of 42 per cent, with shopping centres achieving the same energy savings in just 10 years.

NABERS ratings measure the energy efficiency, indoor air quality, renewable energy procurement, waste, water and other clean economy indicators. This supports owners and occupiers, including tenants, of these commercial buildings with supporting their net zero emissions goals, reducing energy and other costs, and supporting improved health and comfort of occupants.

NABERS Assessors will continue to play an essential role in supporting the decarbonisation of Australia’s commercial buildings, including offices, hospitals, data centres, shopping centres, hotels and more building types.

NABERS Assessors can specialise in one or more types of NABERS assessment, supporting the overall decarbonisation of commercial buildings. They may choose to undertake more specialised training to become Net Zero Business Advisors and/or Project Managers that oversee the integrated building energy retrofits of commercial buildings.

Your current skills could be transferable for this role. Read more about what NABERS Assessors do at nabers.gov.au.
